Jashpurnagar, January 13, 2025 / Under the government led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Say, farmers are being benefited by the various schemes of the Horticulture Department to take other crops along with paddy. Under this, the department has taken an innovative initiative to benefit farmers through fruit area expansion.
Under the National Horticulture Mission scheme, the Horticulture Department is encouraging farmers to produce turmeric. Inspired by the scheme, Shri Harkachand Say, a farmer from Rajoti village in Kansabel development block, produced turmeric in 0.500 hectares after receiving proper guidance from the Horticulture Department. Shri Harkachand Say availed the departmental benefits of turmeric area expansion under the National Horticulture Mission scheme in 2023-24.
Farmer Shri Harkachand Say says that he carried out turmeric production well according to the proper guidance given by the Horticulture Department. He is getting a good yield of turmeric by receiving technical advice from time to time.
The farmer said that he sells the produced turmeric in the nearby markets.
This year, due to good demand for turmeric, he received more profit.
The economic condition of his family has now improved. He mentioned that he will take technical advice from the Horticulture Department and increase production further.
