The proposed ‘Chitrotpala Film City’ in Mana-Tuta, near Atal Nagar, is set to be constructed by a private company on approximately 70 acres of land. The committee chaired by the Chief Secretary has approved the PPP model for the film city’s construction. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has expedited its preparations, and tenders are expected to be released within a month after finalizing contract terms. The film city, estimated to cost around 95 crore rupees, is expected to begin construction within the next few months.
According to officials from the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, private investors will be allocated land under the PPP model for building studios and other infrastructure. E-buses will also operate within the film city. The project anticipates approximately 400 crore rupees in investment, creating employment opportunities for hundreds of local artists and youth. The government aims to encourage private investors, producers, and artists associated with the film industry.
The central government has approved 147 crore rupees for the film city’s construction and tourism development in Chhattisgarh, based on the state government’s proposal. The construction of the film city is expected to promote Chhattisgarhi films, plays, and tourism. Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2024-25, the construction of Chitrotpala Film City in Mana-Tuta, Raipur, is proposed at a cost of 95.79 crore rupees, along with a Tribal and Cultural Convention Center at a cost of 51.87 crore rupees.
