Raipur. The court has given a big verdict in the sensational case of gang rape of a woman in Ghatarani forest of Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh. Both the convicts of this incident in Fingeshwar police station area have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the court of Special Judge Pankaj Kumar Sinha. In 2023, the accused scared the girl and carried out the gang rape incident, after which the police arrested and sent her to jail.
The case is in the year 2023, when a gang rape incident was carried out with a young woman in the forest of the famous Ghatarani temple in Gariaband district. The woman went to hang out with a male friend, when Mahendra Sinha, a resident of Chuiha village and Raju Yadav, a resident of JogDepa, first assaulted her friend and then looted the girl, intimidating her and taking her into the forest and raping her.
After the incident, the victim lodged a report at the Fingeshwar police station. The police, showing readiness, arrested both the accused and sent them to jail. In view of the seriousness of the case, the police gathered strong evidence and prepared a charge sheet. Eventually, the court found both the accused guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
