Raipur, November 27, 2025/ Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai today participated in the Shri Vishnu Mahayagya and Chakra Puja program organized by the Kumhar society in Narayanpur village of Jashpur district and offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the state’s residents. On this occasion, he announced the establishment of a glazing unit for potters through the Mati Kala Board in Goriyana village and an amount of 25 lakh rupees for the expansion of the Mangal Bhavan of the Kumhar society. The Chief Minister also distributed electronic pottery wheels to 100 potters from the Sarguja division during the program.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that this sacred event of Shri Vishnu Mahayagya organized by the Kumhar society is a living example of our cultural heritage. Chakra Puja is not just the worship of the potter’s wheel, but a symbol of creation, hard work, creativity, and the continuity of human life. He said that the Kumhar society is an integral part of Chhattisgarh’s culture. You are all masters of the art of pottery. Your creative efforts bring life and completeness to our festivals and religious rituals. Our government is fully committed to the conservation, promotion, and empowerment of this precious heritage of yours.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that electronic pottery wheels are being distributed through the Chhattisgarh Mati Kala Board, which will reduce labor, increase production capacity, and provide better finishing to the products. This will fetch a higher price in the market and ensure a stable income throughout the year. He said that training programs related to new designs, modern technology, and entrepreneurship are also being conducted for the training of artisans. Our government is also providing financial assistance to potters, enabling you to expand your business by purchasing new equipment. The use of fairs, exhibitions, and online platforms for marketing is being increased, so that your art can reach not only across the country but also abroad. He appealed to establish Chhattisgarh’s pottery art on a global level.
