In Sukma district, the most remote areas are seeing surrendered Naxalites being provided training in skills like masonry, agricultural entrepreneurship, and others. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was welcomed by the surrendered Naxalites with shouts of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. The surrendered Naxalites directly interacted with the Deputy Chief Minister, expressing their views. They lauded the Chhattisgarh government’s rehabilitation policy, noting that their previous life in the Naxal organization was filled with confusion and misdirection. They have now embraced mainstream society and are living a much better life. Due to a lack of knowledge of democratic systems, they had lost their way, but they are now living a better life by surrendering under the government’s rehabilitation policy. They are being trained under skill development to become self-reliant and integrate into mainstream society. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma listened to their experiences and instructed that all necessary documents, including Aadhaar cards, ration cards, Ayushman cards, and bank accounts, should be made in the rehabilitation center itself to ensure they receive all the benefits of the central and state government schemes. He also instructed to incorporate more activities to spread positive energy in the rehabilitation center and to arrange exposure visits to show them the outside world, including visits to cities like Raipur and Jagdalpur. Instructions were given to the Collector and CEO of the Zila Panchayat to make necessary efforts to educate those who have not studied and to include sports, entertainment, and patriotic films in their daily routine, as well as to make special efforts to provide them with a regular source of income.
