The festive season has commenced, with preparations underway for Ganesh Chaturthi, which will be celebrated on August 27th. As excitement builds for the arrival of Lord Ganesha, the Raipur district administration has issued guidelines for the Ganesh Utsav. Additional Collector Umashankar Bande and Additional SP Lakhan Patle convened a meeting with the committees, instructing them to adhere to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) directives. According to the district administration’s guidelines, committees must obtain permission from the administration before erecting pandals on roads. Furthermore, there will be a complete ban on loudspeakers after 10 PM, and every Ganesh Pandal must install CCTV cameras. The guidelines also mandate that committees deploy volunteers and maintain special vigilance at night.
