Gyaneshwari's success will inspire the state's youth, creating a good environment for sports – Shri Arun Saw. Father’s dream motivated her forward; Commonwealth Games silver‑medallist Gyaneshwari Yadav shared her struggle and success story. Deputy Chief Minister honoured Gyaneshwari and her parents. Raipur – Deputy Chief Minister and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Arun Saw honoured Gyaneshwari Yadav, the Rajnandgaon youth who won a silver medal for India in weightlifting at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, at a ceremony in his New Raipur office and also honoured her parents. During the press conference, the Deputy CM, Secretary Yashwant Kumar, Joint Director Prabhakar Pandey, Deputy Director Mrs. Rashmi Thakur, officials of the Weightlifting Federation and training athletes were present. The Deputy CM said this is a historic and proud moment, praising Gyaneshwari for bringing glory to Chhattisgarh and India, and said her achievement will create a new sports atmosphere in the state. He also thanked her father Deepak Yadav and mother Durga Yadav for raising a talented daughter who has honoured the nation. He expressed confidence that the youth of Chhattisgarh will take inspiration and perform well in national and international competitions. He added that since the present government took office, they have been working continuously to promote sports and athletes, organising events such as Bastar Olympics, Surguja Olympics and Sports Conclave, reviving sports awards, strengthening sports infrastructure and providing good training to nurture talent, with the aim of winning more medals for India in upcoming competitions. In a press conference, Gyaneshwari said she felt pressure and nervousness when she first stepped onto a big stage like the World Championships, but that experience taught her how to face major competitions mentally. She said the World Championships taught her to prepare mentally for every event and to give 100% performance. She recalled that her father’s dream has been her greatest strength; he used to take her by bicycle to the gym and told her he could not reach the national or international level but wanted his daughter to represent India and fly the tricolor high. She thanked her father for his relentless hard work, his attention to her diet, training and all needs, and said his sacrifice is the biggest motivation behind every achievement. She concluded that every challenge in life has made her stronger, giving her confidence to represent the country on big stages.
