An IED blast in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh has resulted in the death of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and injuries to several other police personnel. The incident occurred near the Dondra village on Monday morning during a patrol conducted in light of a bandh called by Naxals. The ASP, who was critically injured in the blast, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The injured have been taken to the hospital in Konta. The attack highlights the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region. Authorities have increased search operations in the area following the incident. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra expressed grief, calling the ASP a brave soldier and a recipient of several bravery awards.
