Weather Shifts Across India: Storm Arnab Triggers Rain, Winds and Alerts

Weather across India is changing rapidly as the effects of the cyclonic storm Arnab reach several regions. In the National Capital Region, rain and strong winds disrupted the morning in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad. Thunder, lightning and gusty winds accompanied the showers, transforming the atmosphere across the region.

What to expect in Delhi

Rain and thunderstorms had been forecast for the capital, and the weather has responded accordingly. Light to moderate showers and storms are likely before and during the afternoon, with winds reaching 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. Rain and thunderstorms may return in the evening, and the same kind of weather is expected again tomorrow.

Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand on alert

Several districts in Uttar Pradesh received rain early in the morning. Mirzapur, Chandauli and Sonbhadra have been placed under a yellow alert. Heavy rain and hail are possible in 21 districts, and thunderstorms with lightning are likely in 38 districts. Bihar may see heavy rain and stormy winds in some districts, and Jharkhand could also experience weather changes linked to the storm.

Heavy rain warnings across multiple states

The weather department has warned of very heavy rain in several districts. Winds may blow at around 90 kilometres per hour in certain areas. Rain is expected to persist along the coastal districts of West Bengal. Parts of Rajasthan may see rain with strong winds. Rain activity is likely to pick up in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, with very heavy rain at isolated spots in the eastern parts of both states. Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat and some parts of Maharashtra may also see worsening weather.

South and northeast forecast

South India will see rain in Tamil Nadu's districts along the Western Ghats over the next three days. Rain and gusty winds are expected from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana, and Karnataka has been placed under a broad weather alert. In the northeast, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland and Mizoram may witness changes in weather.

Mountain regions brace for rain and snow

Himachal Pradesh is expected to see unsettled weather in many areas today and tomorrow. Light rain may fall in Lahaul-Spiti, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba and Kinnaur, and higher altitudes could receive snow. Uttarakhand's high-altitude areas may also see changing weather, with light rain in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Almora, Champawat and Pithoragarh, and snowfall in elevated regions.

Authorities advise residents to keep track of the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions.
