Authorities in Akaltara district have concluded that the June 24, 2026 incident on the Sonadula-Sankar Bharat Mala Road was a premeditated murder rather than a traffic mishap. The victim, Arvind Singh Lodhi, 26, from Sakri, Bilaspur, was allegedly attacked by Hemant Singh Thakur, 23, over a previous disagreement concerning a truck deal. Police reports indicate that after a heated exchange at a local alcohol gathering, Thakur and a companion assaulted Lodhi with severe kicks and blows, leading to his death on the spot. The case now carries sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the BNS, and the vehicle has been seized as evidence.
