Key Outcomes of the Chhattisgarh‑Modi Meeting on Agriculture, Industry and Welfare Schemes

RAYPUR – In a session held on 31 July 2026, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sahu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to assess Chhattisgarh’s development agenda. The dialogue underscored the importance of coordinated action between the Union and the state for the swift execution of welfare initiatives.

The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the unwavering cooperation that has enabled progress across several sectors. Principal discussion points were:

1. Infrastructure – updates on expansion of state highways, new rail corridors and upcoming construction projects. 2. Tribal area upliftment – evaluation of security measures, educational outreach and economic schemes in Bastar, Surguja and adjoining tribal blocks. 3. Agriculture and industrial growth – strategies to enhance farmer welfare, improve market linkages, and stimulate industrial investments.

The CM highlighted that central flagship programmes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Jal Jeevan Mission are being implemented with transparency, ensuring benefits reach the most marginalised sections of society.

Prime Minister Modi provided strategic counsel for the "Developed Chhattisgarh" vision, outlining future policy frameworks and potential central assistance. The Chief Minister’s Delhi agenda also included meetings with Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and other MPs, laying the groundwork for additional central grants.
