Raipur, May 14, 2026/ Union Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development (Department of Land Resources), Shri Narendra Bhushan, today visited Dhamtari district and closely inspected the progress of the ambitious 'Map Project'. The Secretary, who visited Akashganga Colony and Gokulpur of Dhamtari Municipal Corporation, gave clear instructions that the project should be completed within the deadline with 'Zero Error'. For this, he directed the Collector to immediately increase the number of survey teams. Observed 'Record of Rights' Demonstration on the Ground During the inspection, the Union Secretary witnessed a live demonstration of Record of Rights (RoR) construction work at the house of Shri Domar Singh Sahu. He understood in detail the working of the map portal, plot verification, and the process of digitizing land records. The Secretary also asked technical questions to the survey team. For example: How much time does one entry take? How is the difference between recorded land and actual possession being resolved? What measures have been taken for the conservation of government land? End of Disputes and a New Era of Transparency Shri Narendra Bhushan said that accurate digitization of urban land records will prove to be a milestone for citizen facilities and transparency in the future. Reviewing the process of draft publication, claim-objection, and resolution, he said that "Citizen participation is the foundation stone for the success of this scheme." Dhamtari Becomes a Role Model for the State Director of Land Records, Shri Vineet Nandanwar, informed that this pilot project is running in three cities of Chhattisgarh: Dhamtari, Jagdalpur, and Ambikapur. Dhamtari is leading in this, where ground truthing work is almost complete and the maximum number of draft rights records have been prepared. Citizen Services to be Integrated with Digital Door Numbering (DDN) Collector Abinash Mishra informed the Secretary that along with the project, Digital Door Numbering is also being implemented in the district. In the future, this will facilitate online tax and utility bill payments. Integrated digital management of citizen services will be possible and 'Smart Governance' will be promoted. Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Nodal Officer Priya Goyal provided information on ward-wise population and survey staff. Meanwhile, State Master Trainer Deepchand Bharti highlighted the technical challenges and legal solutions of the portal.
