Chief Minister and Ministers Assigned District Leads for ‘Blessing Lamp’ Event

Raipur, September 16, 2026 – In preparation for the upcoming “Blessing Lamp” celebration, the Chhattisgarh government has allocated specific districts to senior officials to ensure smooth execution. The program, scheduled for the evening of September 17, will feature simultaneous lamp‑lighting in all 33 districts and will serve as the kickoff for a month‑long Service Commitment Campaign that concludes on October 17.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sais will preside over the event in Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma will headline the ceremony in Bastar, and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw will act as the chief minister’s representative in Bilaspur. Union Minister Tokhan Sahu will attend the gathering in Mungeli while Minister Ramvichar Netam will be present in Balrampur‑Ramanujganj.

At 7 p.m. on September 17, the state will witness a coordinated illumination of oil lamps across government offices, village panchayats, fair‑price shops and other public venues. While Bilaspur is preparing a large‑scale lighting, other districts have set targets ranging from a few thousand to over two lakh lamps, as seen in the Gaurela‑Pendra‑Marwahi region.

The lighting ceremony will launch the Service Commitment Campaign, a series of welfare activities, public‑participation events and development initiatives that align with the “Developed India‑2047” vision. The synchronized lighting on the evening of September 17 will remain the signature moment of the entire campaign.
