Murder Over Alleged Infidelity: Police Nab Main Suspect in Chhattisgarh

In a chilling example of a family feud spiralling into homicide, Chhattisgarh police have arrested four individuals linked to the murder of 36‑year‑old Kamar Bhuary. The crime took place on February 28 in the Mohla‑Manpur‑Ambagarh block, when Bhuary was coaxed to a secluded field under the guise of sharing liquor.

Once intoxicated, Bhuary was strangled with a ghamcha (cloth) by his own brother‑in‑law, Chandran Singh Andhare, who allegedly believed Bhuary’s wife Parmeshwari was having an illicit relationship with her maternal uncle. After the killing, the conspirators buried the body in sand beside a drain, discarding his phone, wallet and shoes into the waterway to erase evidence.

The murder remained hidden until a local resident alerted authorities about an unknown dead body near the Kohka drain on March 5. Post‑mortem findings confirmed fatal asphyxiation. Police seized the suspect’s motorcycle, recovered the discarded items, and launched a case under Sections 103(1) and 238 of the IPC.

Further inquiry exposed a network of three adult accomplices – Hemant Rana, Chaman Lal Dehri, and a minor – who helped execute the plan. Leveraging cyber‑cell resources and informant tips, investigators traced Andhare to Hyderabad, where he was arrested. During questioning, he provided a full confession, detailing the planning and execution of the murder.

Authorities stress that escalating domestic disputes can have fatal consequences and urge swift reporting of any suspicious activity. The case highlights the importance of inter‑state cooperation and modern forensic techniques in delivering justice for victims of rural violence.
