Farmers appealed to adopt alternatives like Nano Urea-Blue Green Algae Currently, 9.29 lakh metric tons of various types of chemical fertilizers are available in the state Central government has allocated a target of 15.55 lakh metric tons of fertilizers to Chhattisgarh Raipur, May 25, 2026/ Keeping in view the possibility of disruption in the supply of imported fertilizers due to tension in West Asia, the state government is preparing a comprehensive strategy to ensure fertilizer supply. Currently, 9.29 lakh metric tons of various types of chemical fertilizers are available in the state's warehouses and societies. Whereas, due to the efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, the central government has allocated a target of 15.55 lakh metric tons of fertilizers to Chhattisgarh for this Kharif season. The state government is also working on a strategy to store liquid Nano DAP and Nano Urea in parallel to ensure that farmers' paddy sowing and production are not affected. Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh government is creating awareness among farmers about the use of Nano DAP fertilizer with the objective of promoting modern and scientific techniques in the agriculture sector. Under the "One Step Towards Agricultural Revolution" campaign, Nano DAP is being promoted among farmers as an advanced liquid fertilizer containing phosphorus and nitrogen, which will help achieve higher and balanced production at a lower cost. According to information received from the Department of Agriculture, the use of Nano DAP will promote balanced nutrition, better results, and environment-friendly farming for farmers. Along with this, reliance on solid DAP will decrease and the efficiency of fertilizer use will increase. According to departmental data, cost reduction is possible with the use of Nano DAP compared to the use of traditional DAP in one acre of land. While 50 kg of DAP costs approximately Rs 1350, the combined use of 25 kg DAP and 500 ml Nano DAP costs approximately Rs 1275. The Department of Agriculture has also informed farmers about the scientific method of using Nano DAP. In the first phase, it is advised to use 25 kg DAP or 75 kg Single Super Phosphate or 38 kg of 12-32-16 mixed fertilizer as a base fertilizer. In the second phase, information has been given to treat seeds by mixing 150 ml Nano DAP with 3 liters of water, and to treat the roots of saplings by dissolving 250 ml Nano DAP in 50 liters of water for plant treatment. In the third phase, about 30 days after crop transplantation, it is advised to spray 250 ml Nano DAP mixed with 125 liters of water on the standing crop. Minister Mr. Netam stated that considering the potential shortage of chemical fertilizers due to the West Asian crisis, the department is motivating farmers to use alternative fertilizers. Under this, the availability of NPK 12:32:16, 20:20:0:13, green manure, organic manure, and nano fertilizers is being increased. Agriculture Minister Mr. Netam informed that due to the efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh has been allocated a target of 15.55 lakh metric tons of fertilizers by the Central government for the upcoming Kharif season 2026. This includes 7.25 lakh tons of Urea, 3 lakh tons of DAP, 80 thousand tons of MOP, 2.5 lakh tons of NPK, and 2 lakh tons of SSP. Currently, approximately 9.29 lakh metric tons of fertilizers are available in the state's warehouses and societies. The state government's effort is to ensure the allocation of adequate chemical fertilizers to all farmers with transparency. Agriculture Production Commissioner Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi informed that instructions have been given to form flying squad teams and monitoring committees at the district level to curb the black marketing and hoarding of fertilizers. Strict legal action will be taken against those who tamper with fertilizers at any level. He informed that the procurement of pulses and oilseeds has also been prioritized under the Prime Minister Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (Price Support Scheme). Instructions have been given to promote the production of aromatic paddy varieties in every district, as well as to expand pulses, oilseeds, and horticulture crops like oil palm, makhana, and spice crops. He said that the state government has appealed to the farmers to use Nano DAP using scientific methods and adopt modern techniques in fertilizer management, which will increase agricultural production and reduce farming costs.
