Raipur. The Government of Chhattisgarh has taken an important decision to empower the technical education of the state and equip the youth with digital skills. In the meeting of the Council of Ministers held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the establishment of the State of the Art Center of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) was approved at Nawa Raipur Atal Nagar. The proposal to allot 10.023 acres of land for the establishment of this institute was also approved by the Council of Ministers. This decision will prove to be the cornerstone of the state’s digital future.
NIELIT, which is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Information and Technology, Government of India, has recently gained the status of deemed university. The institute demanded land for installation of permanent center in Chhattisgarh, which aims to promote quality education and training in the field of electronics, information technology and digital skills in the state.
Keeping this demand in view, 10.023 acres of land has been identified by the Nawa Raipur Atal Municipal Development Authority in the layer-2 area of the village leopard, which will be allotted to NIELIT on lease. It will be reimbursed by the state government to the authority.
The establishment of this state -of -the -art institute will give new strength to technical education, digital skill development and employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh. This center will not only provide modern technical knowledge to the youth, but will also empower the digital ecosystem of the state by making them eligible for employment. Also, Chhattisgarh will emerge as an influential center on the National Technical Education Map.
Significantly, many national institutions of national importance have already been established in Nawa Raipur, such as IIM, IIIT and National Law University. Recently, the establishment of the National Institute of Fashion Design has also been approved by the Council of Ministers.
