In a cowardly act, Naxalites murdered three villagers in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday. The victims were found with their throats slit. Police immediately reached the crime scene after receiving the information. The incident has led to intensified search operations in the area, and police teams are raiding potential hideouts to apprehend the perpetrators. This act of violence is believed to be a move to instill fear among the locals, especially given the ongoing anti-Naxal operations. This follows the recent loss of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje, who was killed in an IED blast planted by Naxalites. Authorities have set a deadline of March 31, 2026, to eliminate Maoism in the region, with ongoing operations continuing despite the monsoon season.
