New Beginning in Industrial Development in Mungeli - BEML Plant to Become Growth Backbone

Industrial development gets a fresh start in Mungeli – a BEML plant will become the cornerstone of growth. The state cabinet approves 79.70 acres of land. Raipur, Chhattisgarh’s industrial map records a historic achievement as Mungeli district, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahi, receives cabinet approval to allocate 79.70 acres of government land at concessional rates for the establishment of a proposed heavy earth‑moving equipment manufacturing plant by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) in the village of Chandragiri, Pathria tehsil. This will be the state’s first heavy earth‑moving equipment (heavy machinery) manufacturing plant. The plant will be set up in Chandragiri (Pathria tehsil), located just 30 km from the Bilaspur‑Raipur National Highway. The entry of the public sector undertaking BEML will provide direct employment to local youth, technical training, and give a boost to ancillary industries such as MSMEs, logistics, transportation, and spare parts manufacturing. Special efforts brought the project to Mungeli. Pathria SDM Mrs. Rekha Chandra said that initially land demarcation for the plant was underway in Raigadh and Janjgir‑Champa districts. During this time, under the guidance of Collector Shri Kundan Kumar, a joint team from the District Trade and Industry Centre and the Revenue Department quickly identified 79.70 acres of suitable government land and sent the proposal to the government, which has now received cabinet approval. Collector congratulates district residents. Collector Shri Kundan Kumar congratulated the people of the district on this achievement, saying the BEML plant in Mungeli will become a new hub for modern manufacturing and engineering activities. This decision will be a milestone in preparing the industrial development backdrop of the district and opening new employment opportunities for the youth.
