A shocking incident unfolded in the Kirandul police station area of Dantewada, where an NMDC employee was defrauded of ₹28 lakhs through a digital arrest scam. The perpetrators, posing as bank officials, instilled fear by claiming unauthorized transactions had occurred in the victim’s account. The victim, succumbing to their deception, transferred ₹28 lakhs to the fraudsters’ accounts. Following the realization of the fraud, the victim filed a complaint with the police. Swift action by the police led to the arrest of three suspects from Jamnagar, Gujarat. The gang was exploiting technology to target unsuspecting individuals. The police have seized mobile phones, SIM cards, and bank details from the accused. The investigation is ongoing.
