North-East and Himalayan States Issue Flood Alerts Amid Torrential Rains

The monsoon has triggered orange alerts for extreme rainfall in 11 districts of southern Uttar Pradesh, with a yellow warning covering 24 additional districts. Bihar has issued heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning alerts for 12 districts. Jharkhand is also under the watch of heavy rain warnings. In the Himalayan belt, Uttarakhand locations such as Rishikesh, Dehradun, Nainital and others face strong rain and wind warnings, while Himachal Pradesh districts like Shimla, Mandi and Kullu may see heavy showers. Jammu & Kashmir reports scattered rain with thunder and lightning in several districts.
