Northeast and Southern states brace for showers through September 24

The monsoon system is moving eastward, bringing heavy rain to the northeastern hill states and parts of South India. West Bengal and Sikkim may experience intermittent downpours, while Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya could see scattered showers until September 23. The states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are under a yellow alert for intense rain today and tomorrow. In the south, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep and the interior regions of Karnataka and Telangana are expected to receive scattered to moderate rain through September 24.
