On Mahashashti, Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam gives a big gift to Chalgali region: high-grade bridge over Moran River at a cost of 5.91 crore

On Mahashashti, Minister of Tribal Affairs Shri Ramvichar Netam presented a major gift to the Chalgali area: a high-quality bridge over the Moran River costing 5.91 crore rupees. The distance to the Balrampur district headquarters will be reduced by 15 km. The Kapildevpur-Basera route bridge will directly benefit 15-20 thousand villagers. In Raipur, Minister Netam inaugurated the land-acquisition for the bridge and access road at Kapildevpur. The Bridge Construction Department, Setu Division, Ambikapur will construct the bridge on the Kapildevpur-Basera route with administrative approval of Rs 591.04 million. The bridge will shorten the travel distance to Balrampur by about 15 km for 12-15 villages, serving 15-20 thousand residents. The 144-metre long and 8.40-metre wide bridge will have six spans of 24 metres each and will use pile-foundation technology. A 271-metre length access road will be built at both ends. Minister Netam said the bridge is a gift on the auspicious occasion of Mahashashti, addressing long-standing difficulties for villagers. After completion, emergency health services, education and employment will be more accessible. He added that approval for the Chalgali-Ramanujganj road has been obtained and construction will start once tendering is complete. Plans are also underway to connect Chalgali with Balrampur and Wadraf Nagar via better road links in coordination with local representatives. The minister emphasized strengthening rural infrastructure as a state priority, including the construction of CC roads, development works in panchayats, priority toilets for schools without girls’ facilities, and the preparation of a Mukti Dham project. Under the Mother’s Vandan scheme, Rs 1,000 is deposited monthly in mothers’ and sisters’ accounts to empower them financially. He urged farmers to adopt modern scientific farming, improve dairy and livestock production for higher income. He praised self-help groups promoting vegetable cultivation, poultry, goat rearing and initiatives like “Drone Didi” that are making women self-reliant. Local representatives, villagers and officials attended the program.
