Raipur, November 23, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the Gond Youth-Youth Matchmaking Conference organized by the Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti at Gondwana Bhawan in Tikrapara, the capital Raipur. The Chief Minister was welcomed according to traditional tribal customs and he inaugurated the program by worshiping Lord Budha Dev according to rituals. During this, the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 05 lakh for social and cultural activities of the Gond community.
During the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai released two important books written by Shri Vikas Markam, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plants Board – “Tribal Historical Continuity to Present Challenges” and “Respecting Heritage: Questioning the Global Perspective”.
In his address, the Chief Minister said that the history of the Gond community has been very rich and glorious. He said that the Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, is very sensitive towards the interests of the tribal community. The proud presence of the tribal community in the highest office of the country is a direct symbol of this respect.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that extensive work is being done for the all-round development of the tribal community through PM Janman and Prime Minister Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Yojana. Many special initiatives have also been started by the government for the upliftment of particularly backward tribes.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is committed to respecting the glorious history of tribal heroes. He urged the people present to visit the tribal museum established in Naya Raipur. He said that tribal heroes have always protected their land and culture, and you will get a beautiful glimpse of this glorious tradition in the museum. Shri Sai said that Tribal Pride Day, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, is a powerful medium to honor the heritage of the tribal society.
Chief Minister said that such events are important means of connecting society. Through these, the future generation becomes acquainted with their traditions and cultural roots. The Youth-Youth Matchmaking Conference plays an important role in helping community members understand each other, know each other, and move forward in the process of building relationships. He also extended best wishes to the organizers for the successful organization of the conference.
On this occasion, Shri Vikas Markam, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plants Board, expressed his views on the glorious history of the Gond community. He said that the history of the Gond community is full of rich traditions and tales of bravery. He stated that in historical periods, Gond kings made significant contributions to strengthening governance, management, and social structure, which are mentioned in various historical documents. Shri Markam said that in the double-engine government, the interests, development, and upliftment of the tribal community are being given the highest priority. The benefits of schemes run by the central and state governments are reaching the tribal community on a large scale today. He called upon the society to move forward unitedly towards progress and informed about the various activities, community efforts, and innovations run by the Gond community, saying that collective efforts empower society.
On this occasion, the President of Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti Shri Jaggu Singh, Vice Presidents Shri Kishor Dhruv, Shri Sewaram Dhruv, Shri Hari Singh Thakur, and many members of the community were present.
