Police Chase Ends in Arrest After Suspects Abandon Body at Tata Magic in Parastara

A routine patrol on the Raypur‑Bilaspur road turned into a dramatic chase when officers spotted a Tata Magic van carrying a covered body.

The vehicle, heading towards the Kharun River, belonged to three men who had just murdered Mohan Nishad. The suspects, Hemraj, Rohit and Sanjay, tried to flee the scene as police approached. They fled the van, boarded a bus to Bilaspur and sought refuge in Ratanpur.

Intensified police pressure forced Hemraj to surrender at the Darsivan Police Station. The other two perpetrators are still being pursued.

Investigators revealed that the murder was linked to a recent land deal that Mohan had finalized. The dispute escalated after Mohan invited Hemraj to a celebration, where alcohol consumption led to a violent confrontation.

The case is now being processed under the state's criminal law, with authorities promising a thorough probe into all involved parties.
