PHE Teams Engaged in Providing Uninterrupted Drinking Water to Remote Villages Technical staff and handpump mechanics instructed to immediately resolve issues of faulty handpumps, pipeline problems, and disruptions in drinking water supply. Amidst the scorching heat, humidity, and the escalating water crisis, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department team is working with full commitment to maintain a smooth drinking water system in rural areas. The PHE Department team is working vigilantly to ensure clean and regular drinking water reaches villagers during the summer. The department is working with promptness to provide uninterrupted drinking water to forest areas and remote villages. The state government has directed all technical staff and handpump mechanics of the department to immediately resolve issues of faulty handpumps, pipeline problems, and disruptions in the drinking water system. On the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Arun Sao, departmental officials are continuously visiting rural areas and inspecting the ground situation of drinking water schemes. Despite the extreme heat and difficult conditions, the department's team is working day and night to provide relief to villagers from water problems. The department is continuously monitoring schemes being operated under the Jal Jeevan Mission in remote areas to ensure the uninterrupted availability of pure and safe drinking water to every rural household. Departmental teams are actively working, giving the highest priority to the availability of clean, safe, and regular drinking water to every home even during the summer. The department is not only ensuring the regular operation of schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission but also making villagers aware of water conservation. People are being appealed to turn off tap when not needed, prevent misuse of water, and save water. The department is also conveying the message that water is not just a need for today but a precious resource for future generations, hence its conservation is the collective responsibility of all. During their visits, the Public Health Engineering Department team is holding meetings with members of Village Water and Sanitation Committees, placing special emphasis on increasing public participation in the continuous operation of schemes. Villagers are being made aware of the importance of collecting water charges so that the maintenance and operation of schemes can continue uninterrupted for a long time. The department is emphasizing the construction of soak pits near the tap connection in every house, which will ensure water conservation along with sanitation.
