Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, railway infrastructure is expanding unprecedentedly in Chhattisgarh. The resolve of the double-engine government is that modern transportation facilities should reach the remote and tribal areas of the state, and the benefits of development should reach the last person.
Railways to Rawghat - New Speed for Bastar's Development
A new 95 km long rail line has been completed between Dalli Rajhara and Rawghat at a cost of approximately ₹1,628 crore. With the completion of the 17.5 km rail line between Tadoqi and Rawghat, this important project is now complete.
The establishment of rail connectivity to Rawghat will provide better transportation facilities to the citizens of the region, making access to education, health, employment, and business opportunities easier. This will also boost industrial and economic activities. This rail link will also be important for the transportation of iron ore from the Rawghat region and for the needs of the country's steel industry, including the Bhilai Steel Plant.
Abhanpur - Kurud Broad Gauge Line will make travel to the capital easier
Under the Abhanpur - Dhamtari gauge conversion project, the gauge conversion work of the 22 km rail line between Abhanpur and Kurud has been completed. Work is in progress on the remaining Kurud-Dhamtari section of the project.
The commencement of new passenger rail services from Rawghat - Raipur and Raipur - Kurud will benefit students, working professionals, farmers, traders, and general passengers with direct rail connectivity. This will also promote activities related to education, health, trade, agriculture, and tourism.
Modern Rail Engine Maintenance Facility to be developed in Raipur
The foundation stone for an Electric Rail Engine Maintenance Facility will also be laid in Raipur. With the development of this modern facility, the capacity to maintain 300 high-horsepower electric rail engines will be developed in the future. This will help in making rail operations smoother and meeting increasing freight transportation needs.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that new rail lines, passenger services, and modern rail infrastructure will give new momentum to Chhattisgarh's development journey. The whistle of the train to Rawghat is no longer just the start of a journey, but the beginning of a new era of development, trust, and new possibilities in Bastar.
