Monsoon rains are currently lashing several states across the country. The monsoon’s intense impact is visible in many hilly and plain states. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several states today as well. Rain is also expected in the hilly states. The risk of landslides has also increased in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall.
According to the weather department, continuous rain may continue in Delhi. The rain in Delhi is not expected to stop anytime soon. Today, Delhi might experience rain along with thunderstorms. This weather pattern may persist in Delhi until the end of this month, i.e., August 31st. Showers with rain or thunderstorms are likely on September 1st and 2nd.
**Rainfall Subsides in UP, Weather to Change Again from September 1st**
The rain has stopped in Uttar Pradesh. According to the weather department, people in UP will have to endure heat and humidity during the remaining days of this month. However, there might be showers and thunderstorms in some parts of the western and eastern regions of the state today, but the weather department has not predicted heavy rainfall anywhere. The weather department has also predicted heavy rainfall in the state on August 29th and 30th. The weather in UP will change again from September 1st.
Heavy rainfall can occur in Bihar from August 30th to September 1st. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Jharkhand on August 29th and 30th. Heavy rain is expected in Chhattisgarh and Odisha today. Heavy rainfall can be seen in eastern Rajasthan and Haryana at different places for the next 7 days. Rain may occur in western Rajasthan from August 29th to 31st.
**Rivers Swelling in Punjab**
Light rain may occur in many areas of Punjab today. Flood conditions have worsened in Kapurthala district due to continuous rain in various parts of Punjab for the last two days. The water level of rivers and streams, including the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, has increased rapidly due to the release of excess water from the Pong and Bhakra dams and heavy rainfall.
**Rain from South to East**
Heavy rainfall is expected in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and interior Karnataka at different places until August 29th. The rain continues in the northeastern states of India. Continuous rain may occur in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for the next 7 days. Heavy rainfall may occur in Arunachal Pradesh until August 30th.
Rain with thunderstorms is also expected to continue in Jammu. The Indian Meteorological Department has alerted people due to the rain. Extremely heavy rainfall may occur in Uttarakhand today and tomorrow, and again on September 1st and 2nd. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh at different places for the next 7 days.
