Rainfall persists across India: Delhi rain expected till 16 Sep, multiple states under alerts

The monsoon’s last turn brings persistent rainfall across a large part of the country. The meteorological department’s alert on September 12 warns of rain from the northern plains to the eastern hills. In Delhi, clouds will linger with moderate showers and daytime highs of about 31°C, lows near 25°C, and rain likely to continue until September 16. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar face heavy precipitation and thunderstorm warnings. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Haryana are under various alert levels for rain and storms. In the northeast, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Sikkim have heavy rain alerts, while West Bengal expects strong breezes and thunderstorms. The mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are also slated for heavy rain and lightning across many districts.
