Police in Raipur, specifically in the Purani Basti police station area’s Professor Colony, have apprehended three individuals, including a woman, for their involvement in a prostitution racket. Acting on a tip-off about illicit activities at a residence, the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit conducted a raid. Akash Sahu, his female companion, and another woman were arrested on the spot. An investigation revealed that Sahu and his associate were running a sex trafficking operation, exploiting a female victim. Further investigation led to the arrest of Krishanu Das, who operates multiple spas where he facilitates prostitution. Evidence, including chats and financial transactions, was found on the accused’s mobile phones. Four phones have been seized, and the arrested individuals have been charged under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act of 1956. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest other suspects involved in the case.
