The desert state of Rajasthan is not immune to the monsoon surge. Districts including Bharatpur, Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner are forecast to receive moderate to very heavy rainfall between 7 and 10 August. While the state traditionally receives scattered showers, the current system is expected to bring sustained precipitation that could overwhelm urban drainage, create waterlogging in low‑lying areas and increase the likelihood of flash floods in river basins.
