Raipur – Following the direction and sensitive initiative of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, continuous effective actions are being taken for wildlife conservation in Chhattisgarh. In this effort, a team of the Forest Department rescued a rare wildlife pangolin in the village of Kunjantola, Mohla tehsil, Manpur Ambagarh Chauki district, and released it into a safe forest. On Sunday, the Forest Department received information that a pangolin had entered the house of Mr. Jayant Kumar in Kunjantola. Upon receiving the information, the department’s team promptly arrived at the site and began a careful rescue operation. Under the guidance of the Divisional Forest Officer and led by Range Officer Mr. Pankaj Patel, the rescue team safely captured the pangolin and released it into a reserved forest area. Deputy Ranger Mr. Mahendra Baghel and Mr. Shobhit Ram Yadav also played important roles in the operation. This rescue demonstrates the Forest Department’s swift action, trained team, and sensitive approach to wildlife conservation. Timely information and coordinated efforts saved a rare and protected wildlife. The Forest Department appeals to villagers to avoid harming any wildlife and to immediately inform the department if any are sighted. Public awareness and cooperation can further enhance wildlife protection. The pangolin is listed under Schedule‑1 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 as a highly protected species, and the state government is committed to its conservation. Under the instructions of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, the Forest Department continues active work in wildlife protection, rapid rescue, and public awareness.
