Rescue Team Tranquilizes Rampaging Bear Following Village Tragedy
A specialized wildlife team from Raipur was dispatched to subdue the aggressive female bear after the Kanker attacks. According to forest officials, the bear displayed abnormal mental stress, prompting the use of tranquilizers to render it unconscious.
The team successfully sedated the animal and secured it in a strong cage for transport. The operation attracted a large crowd of villagers, some of whom, in anger, attempted to strike the bear with sticks before police intervened. The tranquilized bear is now being held at a forest shelter while a detailed investigation proceeds.
Authorities stressed that such incidents underscore the importance of rapid response mechanisms when wildlife conflicts arise, especially in remote forest zones.
