Sonal K. Mishra Takes Charge of GST Business Intelligence Unit

Raipur, Chhattisgarh – Joint Commissioner Sonal K. Mishra has been elevated to lead the Business Intelligence Unit (BIU) of the state’s GST department, according to a recent government order. The re‑assignment forms part of a larger realignment that affects ten Joint Commissioners.

The move removes Narendra Verma from the BIU, assigning him a different responsibility that the order keeps under wraps. Officials say the change aims to inject fresh perspectives into the BIU’s data‑analytics functions, which are central to modernising tax compliance and enforcement.

The comprehensive reshuffle is presented as a step toward greater administrative cohesion and more agile decision‑making within the GST framework.
