State’s Industrial Policy Focuses on Labor‑Intensive Investments, Says CM
Chhattisgarh’s newly released Industrial Development Policy for 2024‑2030 places a premium on sectors that generate high employment per unit of capital. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai explained that the policy targets textiles, food processing, electronics, pharmaceuticals and similar labor‑intensive domains.
The policy provides fiscal incentives, subsidies and tax reliefs to projects that meet defined job‑creation thresholds. The state has earmarked over INR 1,000 crore in subsidy funds, a significant increase from previous allocations, to attract investors committed to hiring locally.
According to the CM, the approach shifts the evaluation of investment proposals from pure financial outlay to the quality and quantity of jobs created. This paradigm aims to transform capital inflows into tangible socio‑economic benefits for the region’s population.
The government also pledged to simplify licensing, reduce bureaucratic red‑tape, and ensure that approvals are time‑bound. These measures are intended to make Chhattisgarh a more attractive destination for businesses seeking a supportive regulatory environment.
