From steel to AI: Chhattisgarh’s roadmap to 2030

The government has set an ambitious target of 45 million tonnes of steel production by 2030, while simultaneously encouraging downstream value‑added units. In parallel, a goal of nurturing 5,000 start‑ups by the same year has been announced, with special emphasis on AI, semiconductor and green‑energy ventures. Training allowances of up to ₹15,000 per employee are being provided to equip local youth with industry‑relevant skills, projecting the creation of 1.72‑1.9 lakh jobs across the new projects.

Special attention is being given to the Bastar region, where tourism, forest‑produce, handicrafts and resource‑based industries are being linked with investors through events such as Bastar Investor Connect.
