Raipur May 25, 2026 / Chhattisgarh has achieved another major milestone in the direction of industrial development. Approval has been received for the second Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Naya Raipur. Polymetec Electronics Limited has been approved to establish an electronics and engineering-based SEZ in an area of 10.13 hectares in Naya Raipur, where semiconductor and electronic products will be manufactured. This project is special because it will lead to the establishment of Chhattisgarh's first semiconductor manufacturing plant. Along with this, the state will step into a new world of technology-based and high-value industries. This will not only accelerate industrial development but also make Chhattisgarh a new center for technology-based investment and modern manufacturing. This Special Economic Zone to be built in Naya Raipur will play an important role in boosting the state's exports, attracting new investments, and connecting Chhattisgarh to the global electronics supply chain. Along with this, new opportunities for employment in skill development, innovation, and the technology sector will also increase. It is estimated that this project will create more than 1300 job opportunities in the next five years. It will also open new avenues for skilled youth in the state to work in high-tech industries and promote technical skill development. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that this approval is a testament to the positive environment being created for investment and industries in Chhattisgarh. He said that the state government is creating a strong environment for future industries through better infrastructure, transparent systems, and investment-friendly policies. The Chief Minister said, “Semiconductor technology is the need of the future. The establishment of the state's first semiconductor manufacturing plant in Naya Raipur is not just the beginning of an industry, but a strong foundation for Chhattisgarh's technological future. It will provide better employment to the youth, enhance technical skills, and the state will move forward with a new industrial identity.” Chhattisgarh's industrial potential is also being recognized at the national level. In the LEADS 2025 ranking of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, Chhattisgarh has been considered a “High Performer” in the category of landlocked states. This reflects the state's better logistics system, industrial connectivity, and export capacity. This new SEZ in Naya Raipur is considered a significant step towards giving Chhattisgarh a new identity in the field of electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
