VB‑G Ram Ji Scheme Allocates Over ₹6,800 Crore for Rural Development in Chhattisgarh

The VB‑G Ram Ji programme, launched nationwide on 1 July 2026, is set to channel an unprecedented ₹6,855 crore into Chhattisgarh’s rural development and employment sector for the current financial year. Of this, ₹1,538 crore has already been approved by the central government as the first tranche. The scheme raises daily wages for unskilled labour to ₹300 and mandates that all project selections receive approval from the Gram Sabha, ensuring community participation and transparency.
