Weather conditions across India have changed abruptly as the cyclonic storm Arnab continues to influence rainfall patterns. Its strength has reduced, but the system has not disappeared completely. Several states are likely to witness rain, gusty winds, thunder and lightning today. While some regions may see brief storms, others could experience heavy downpours. Wind speeds of up to 95 kilometres per hour are possible at certain places.
Delhi-NCR feels the impact
The Arnab storm continues to affect the National Capital Region. Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and nearby areas have been receiving rain since early morning. Rain, thunder and strong winds persisted in Delhi late into the night. A cool feel has begun to set in across the region.
Before noon, light to moderate rain and a possibility of dust storms are expected in the capital. Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Delhi tomorrow.
Uttar Pradesh: 49 districts under watch
Rain alerts have been issued for 49 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Forty-three of them, including Gorakhpur, Meerut and Noida, have been warned of heavy rain, and a yellow alert is in effect. In six other districts, rain and storms may be even more intense.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are expected to see more rain activity over the coming days, and very heavy rain is possible at a few isolated places in the eastern parts of both states.
North, east and south India
Haryana and Chandigarh may witness strong winds accompanied by thunder and lightning, and Punjab may also face unfavourable weather. West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive widespread rain until October 31. North Odisha may see extremely heavy rain at some places. Rain is expected at various locations in south India until November 4, and coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive rain from November 1 to 4.
