Heavy rainfall is occurring across most areas of Chhattisgarh, leading to overflowing rivers and streams. Waterlogging is affecting low-lying areas in several cities. Light to moderate rainfall is expected across most parts of the state on Tuesday, with warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall in one or two places in the Durg, Bastar, and Bilaspur divisions. A low-pressure area is active in the southwest Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas, with a cyclonic circulation extending up to a height of approximately 7.6 kilometers in the upper atmosphere. This system is moving in the west-northwest direction and is likely to reach Jharkhand and northern Chhattisgarh within the next 24 hours. Furthermore, the monsoon trough extends from Sri Ganganagar, Sirsa, Meerut, Varanasi, Daltonganj, Purulia, and the low-pressure area over southwest Gangetic West Bengal at sea level, extending southeast towards the northeast Bay of Bengal. Additionally, another trough originates from southern Rajasthan, passing through central Madhya Pradesh, northern Chhattisgarh, and southern Jharkhand, extending to the low-pressure center over southwest Gangetic West Bengal, active in the atmosphere at a height of 3.1 to 7.6 kilometers. These overall weather systems are likely to have widespread effects in the respective areas. The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms, lightning, and sudden strong winds (30-40 KMPH) with moderate rainfall in Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Raipur, Durg, and Bemetara in the next three hours. Light rainfall is expected in Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Raipur, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra Marwahi, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Mungeli, Suruguja, and Surajpur. The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy skies and the possibility of rain in Raipur today. The temperature may range from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.
