State government is working with commitment to promote sports talent – Chief Minister
Raipur, November 09, 2025 / “Chhattisgarh is my birthplace and workplace. The soil here, the people here, the education and values here have given me the strength to achieve this position.” This was said by Akanksha Satyanshi, physiotherapist of the World Cup winning Indian women’s cricket team and daughter of Chhattisgarh, who paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence today and shared her happiness.
Wishing Akanksha, Chief Minister Shri Sai said, “Your success is the success of entire Chhattisgarh. The inclusion of a daughter of Chhattisgarh in the women’s cricket team’s World Cup campaign made the people of the state feel that we are all participants in this victory.” On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored Akanksha by presenting her with a medal and a memento.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, appreciating Akanksha Satyanshi’s achievement, said, “You have proven that the daughters of Chhattisgarh are not behind in any field. Your success will inspire the daughters of future generations.” He said that the state government is committed to expanding opportunities in sports, education, and skill development, so that more youth can bring laurels to Chhattisgarh at the national and international level. The Chief Minister said that the state government is restarting the sports award ceremony. Also, special incentives will be provided to players participating in the Olympics and those who win medals.
The Chief Minister said that initiatives like ‘Bastar Olympics’ are being continuously encouraged to provide a platform to sports talents from remote areas of the state. The government’s goal is to provide international-level sports facilities to its players, for which several concrete steps are being taken.
Physiotherapist Akanksha Satyanshi, sharing the joy of this historic victory with the Chief Minister, said, “Winning the World Cup is an honor for Chhattisgarh along with the success of the Indian women’s team. I am proud that I was able to contribute to this victory while representing my state.” She informed that although she was not an active player on the field, she was responsible for maintaining the mental and physical health, fitness, and recovery of the players. “I have always stood like a rock with my team. It is a matter of pride for me that I was a part of the journey to lead the team to victory.”
Sharing her experience, Akanksha said, “If the goal is true and the hard work is done honestly, then nothing can stop you from moving forward — you just need continuous effort and self-confidence.”
On this occasion, Akanksha presented the Chief Minister with the Indian women’s team jersey and shared some interesting memories of the World Cup campaign.
Regular routine, balanced diet, and yoga – the mantra for staying fit
Physiotherapist Akanksha discussed players’ fitness in detail with the Chief Minister. Mentioning the women’s cricket team’s meeting with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, she said, “The Prime Minister always says that sports should be a part of lifestyle, and this is inspiring for all of us. His teachings on fitness inspire everyone to live a healthy and energetic life.”
Akanksha asked the Chief Minister about the secret of his fitness, to which Chief Minister Shri Sai said —
“We are all inspired by the Prime Minister. We learn from his activeness, energy, and discipline. A balanced diet, yoga, and a regular routine are my mantra for staying fit.”
It is noteworthy that in the World Cup victory of the Indian women’s cricket team, daughter of Chhattisgarh Akanksha Satyanshi was with the team as a physiotherapist and sports science expert and made a significant contribution to maintaining the fitness and mental strength of the players. As a physiotherapist and sports science expert, Akanksha Satyanshi has made a remarkable contribution as part of the Indian team in maintaining the fitness, recovery, and performance of the players at the highest level.
Considering this achievement, Chief Minister Shri Sai has announced a reward of 10 lakh rupees for Akanksha.
Akanksha, born in Durg, resides with her family in Raipur, while her ancestral village is Kawardha. She completed her schooling and bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy in Chhattisgarh, while her master’s degree was obtained from Cuttack. Even during her studies, her inclination towards sports and physiotherapy science was clearly visible.
In 2019, Akanksha began her professional career as a physiotherapist with the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Team (CSCS). In a short span of just six years, she carved a niche for herself in the national sports arena through her dedication, hard work, and professionalism. In 2022, she was included in the World Cup campaign with the Indian Under-19 women’s cricket team. During this time, she focused on fitness management, recovery sessions, mental toughness, and energy balance of the players, which resulted in the team’s spectacular performance.
