Chief Minister outlines focus on steel, textiles, nuclear and food processing

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary addressed a gathering of senior officials and industry leaders on Thursday, outlining a multi‑sector strategy to accelerate Bihar’s industrial growth. The centerpiece is a series of MOUs committing about 51,600 crore rupees to new projects across steel, textiles, nuclear power, food processing and pharmaceuticals.

The steel sector will receive the lion's share of attention, with firms like Shyam Steel Manufacturing and Shakambari Steel & Power planning integrated mills and captive power plants. The textile industry, identified as a labour‑intensive driver, is slated for expansion to create a sizable employment base.

In the energy arena, Global Renewable Advanced Clean Energy Pvt. Ltd. pledged capital for a nuclear‑related clean‑energy venture, signaling Bihar’s intent to meet future power requirements through low‑carbon sources. Simultaneously, investments in food processing aim to link agricultural output with higher‑value markets, boosting farmer incomes.

The chief minister reiterated the "Built and Believe in Bihar" slogan, asserting the government is operating in a mission mode to simplify clearances, provide fiscal incentives and foster investor confidence. He also previewed "Bihar Business Connect‑2026," a platform to bring together domestic and international investors with the state’s newly unveiled industrial opportunities.
