Union Minister Chirag Paswan has stated that Rahul Gandhi has already accepted defeat in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, citing recent comments made by the Congress MP. Paswan suggested that Gandhi’s criticisms of institutions, including the Election Commission, are indicative of an anticipated loss. Paswan advised Gandhi to focus on introspection within the Congress party rather than blaming external bodies. Furthermore, Paswan predicted potential losses for the Congress in other states, such as Assam and Bengal, following the Bihar elections. Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav, a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, supported Rahul Gandhi’s allegations against the Election Commission, accusing the BJP of manipulating constitutional institutions under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Yadav claimed that the BJP’s IT cell is aware of election schedules before the Election Commission announces them, implying partisan bias. Rahul Gandhi had previously criticized the Election Commission’s response to allegations regarding the Maharashtra polls, calling the response ‘evasive.’ The Election Commission, in turn, dismissed Gandhi’s claims of poll rigging as ‘unsubstantiated allegations,’ emphasizing that the issues were addressed in a previous response and accusing Gandhi of disrespecting the law and the efforts of election staff.
