Following successive petrol and diesel price revisions, Delhi has witnessed another round of fuel inflation with CNG rates climbing Rs 2 per kilogram from Tuesday. The new rate of Rs 83.09 per kg reflects a cumulative Rs 6 increase over the past eleven days. Petrol and diesel prices were also revised upward on Monday, with petrol now at Rs 102.12 per litre and diesel at Rs 95.20 per litre after hikes of Rs 2.61 and Rs 2.71 respectively. The capital has experienced four petrol-diesel adjustments in the last ten days alone. Cities in the NCR region and Mumbai are experiencing parallel increases. CNG in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad has reached Rs 88.70 per kg, while Mumbai rates have touched Rs 84 per kg. The common driver behind these changes is the ongoing geopolitical strain in the Middle East that has tightened global supply chains and lifted crude oil prices past $100 per barrel. Experts warn that unless tensions ease, Indian consumers should prepare for further upward revisions across all fuel categories.
