Tamil Nadu is reeling after the horrific killing of a young girl in Coimbatore, prompting Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to issue a strong statement promising zero tolerance for crimes against children. The 10-year-old, missing since Thursday evening, was discovered dead near a water tank in Sulur on Friday. Two men named Mohan and Karthik have been taken into custody, and police are working to complete the probe rapidly. The Chief Minister wrote on social media that the “cruel incident” has caused immense pain and that he personally directed authorities to file the chargesheet at the earliest. He extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family from Kolathur. Minister V. Sampathkumar met the relatives at the hospital and stressed that officers must act swiftly. The government, he said, will leave no stone unturned to deliver justice. Public anger is rising, with citizens demanding better policing and preventive steps to safeguard minors across the state.
