Congress Accuses Uttar Pradesh Government of Hindering Student Dialogue

Ahead of the "Students' Echo" event on August 8, the Congress party has publicly accused the Uttar Pradesh government of obstructing a platform meant for student engagement. Party spokespersons claim that the initial denial of permission by the KP Trust was prompted by pressure from the state administration.

According to Congress, the revocation was a deliberate effort to curb Rahul Gandhi's outreach to young voters. The party maintains that the constitutional right to free assembly will be upheld, and the event will proceed at the KP Ground in Prayagraj as scheduled.

Senior Congress leaders, including Ajay Rai, emphasized that the programme will run from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, featuring a dialogue on academic concerns and employment opportunities. The episode has sparked a broader debate about political freedom and the role of state bodies in regulating public gatherings.
