The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Vice President, CP Radhakrishnan, is scheduled to take place at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi on Friday, September 12. Radhakrishnan will be sworn into office as the 15th Vice President of India in a ceremony attended by prominent national figures. President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office.
Several dignitaries are expected to be present, including Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who have arrived in Delhi for the event.
Radhakrishnan, the NDA nominee, won the Vice Presidential election on Tuesday, securing 452 votes. His opponent, INDIA Bloc candidate B. Sudershan Reddy, a former Supreme Court judge, received 300 votes. Following the election results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended congratulations to Radhakrishnan, expressing confidence in his ability to uphold constitutional values and enhance parliamentary discussions.
