Mahipalpur, Delhi – A brief panic spread through the Mahipalpur area near the Radisson Hotel on Thursday morning following reports of a loud explosion. Emergency services and police were immediately dispatched to the scene. The heightened alert was understandable, given the recent Red Fort car blast. However, after a thorough investigation, Delhi Police have confirmed that the alarming noise was not caused by a bomb, but by a burst tyre on a DTC bus. The incident, which occurred around 9:18 AM, involved a woman who heard the loud bang and promptly contacted authorities. Fire tenders and bomb disposal units were quickly mobilized as a precautionary measure. A local inquiry revealed that the rear tyre of a DTC bus traveling towards Dhaula Kuan had burst, creating the startling sound. Police have assured the public that the situation is now normal and there is no cause for concern. This false alarm occurred during a period of heightened security across the National Capital and other states, following the deadly terrorist car blast near the Red Fort on November 10th, which claimed 12 lives and injured many. The Red Fort incident has been classified as a terrorist act and is under investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
