Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have arrested a doctor in connection with the deaths of 11 children who consumed a contaminated cough syrup. The doctor, identified as Dr. Praveen Soni, a pediatrician based in Parasia, had prescribed the cough syrup, named ‘Coldrif’, to the affected children. The Madhya Pradesh government has also initiated legal action against Srisan Pharmaceuticals, the Tamil Nadu-based company responsible for producing the tainted cough syrup.
