Operations to eliminate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir have been intensified. As a result, a search operation was launched in Kulgam on Monday. An encounter occurred between security forces and terrorists during this operation. One terrorist was killed in the operation. According to sources, a JCO of the army was injured in the encounter. He was moving towards a suspected hideout with his team when hidden terrorists opened fire on him. Official confirmation is still awaited. It is believed that 2-3 terrorists are hiding. The operation is still ongoing. Authorities reported that an encounter began on Monday in the Guddar forest area of Kulgam district, South Kashmir, between terrorists and security forces. After receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists, a joint team of police, 9 RR of the Army and CRPF launched a search operation in the area. The official stated that when the joint team approached the suspected location, the hidden terrorists started firing, which was reciprocated by the security forces. Following this, an encounter began between the security forces and the terrorists. One terrorist has been eliminated in this operation. However, the operation is still ongoing. In related news, authorities announced on Monday that a Pakistani infiltrator was arrested on the International Border (IB) in the R.S. Pura sector. The infiltrator, identified as Siraj Khan, a resident of Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan, was spotted by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stationed at the Octroi post at 9:20 pm on Sunday. After challenging the infiltrator, the soldiers fired a few rounds, after which he was arrested near the border fence. Some Pakistani currency notes were also recovered from him. Authorities stated that he is being interrogated to ascertain the purpose behind his attempt to infiltrate into Indian territory.
