A harrowing incident unfolded in Faridabad, Haryana, where a 45-year-old man ended his life by jumping in front of a train along with his four children, resulting in the death of all five. The event occurred on Tuesday and has brought forth disturbing details. The deceased, Manoj Mahato, originally from Bihar, reportedly took the extreme step following an alleged dispute with his wife. He had left home earlier in the day after an argument, telling his wife he was taking the children to a park. Before the tragic act, he provided the children with snacks and then led them to the railway tracks. Witnesses reported that the children struggled to escape their father’s grasp as he held them tightly. The Golden Temple Express train was approaching Ballabgarh station when the incident took place around 12:55 pm. Mahato was seen walking along the tracks with his children, holding two by the hand and carrying the other two on his shoulders. Despite the train’s horn, he remained on the tracks and jumped in front of the train. The children were identified as Murli (5), Chotu (3), Pawan (10), and Karu (9). Police found a note with the wife’s phone number in Mahato’s pocket. Initial investigations suggest the suicide was motivated by suspicions of the wife’s infidelity.
